Orangery and Conservatory: what is the difference?

An orangery or orangerie was a room or a dedicated building on the grounds of fashionable residences from the 17th to the 19th centuries where orange and other fruit trees were protected during the winter, similar to a greenhouse or conservatory.

Global Summer
Global Summer gives you the distinguished look of a traditional orangery without the need for expensive parapet walls, leak prone flat roofs or the added engineering complexity of a lantern roof.
Capella is a modular system creating a simple yet effective add-on to a standard conservatory. The options available include a high fronted and an internal plaster boarded soffit ideal for downlighters or speakers.
Integra looks traditionally built; its clever design is packed with modern features. Inside, Integra’s distinctive orangery soffit is supported by high strength structural aluminium and the soffit is fully insulated for added warmth and comfort.
Spacious and alluring, Venetian presents the ultimate in traditional orangery design. The walls can be window walling, full height modern bi-fold doors or even traditional brickwork to customise your design.
